Dao Jensen, the CEO and Founder of Kaizen Technology Partners, had the honour of attending Ideagen’s annual Global Empowering Women & Girls 2030 Summit held at the United Nations in New York City on September 13th, 2019.
In line with Ideagen’s goal of cross-sector collaboration, this powerful annual event brings together the world’s leaders and luminaries to create systemic solutions and strategic partnerships to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the progress of women everywhere.
In pursuit of these collaborative solutions, the annual Summit assembles diplomats and 1,000 of the world’s leading companies, NGOs, public sector organizations, and inspirational visionaries to generate new ideas and solutions to achieve the UN SDGs and advance the interests of women around the globe.
This Summit saw contributions from major industry leaders and luminaries such as Kim Smith (IBM), Mimi Ryder (young Elsa in Disney’s Frozen on Broadway), Gretchen O’Hara (Microsoft), and Maria Loi (celebrity chef and successful entrepreneur).
As a Global Accelerator “Where Content meets Networking,” Ideagen is committed to developing systemic solutions via catalytic cross-sector collaboration. With a member base drawn broadly from influentials in the non-profit, corporate and public sectors, the collective is designed to harness the models and best practices that each member brings to the table.
Kaizen is proud to support Ideagen’s mission and the inspiring list of critical topics addressed at the Summit. One particular area of interest was the discussion about the role of education and skills in the technology field and means in which women can make a difference in the industry. With the leadership of Dao, a long-time proponent of empowering women, Kaizen is dedicated to ending the current under-representation of women in tech and supporting women rise to the top of any office or company. Dao explained, “at Kaizen, we take the women who are not in the industry, show them the door and teach them how to fit in”.
In becoming a force to drive advance critical policies that empower women in business, Dao recently accepted a position on the Board of Directors of the Institute for EconInstitute for Economic Empowerment of Women (#IEEW). The IEEW empowers women to grow their businesses, pursue greater entrepreneurial ventures, and become more active public policy advocates. With this position, Dao can use her personal experiences as a leader in the male-dominated tech industry to make an impact on the future of entrepreneurial success and leadership for women.
This Summit was a testament to the power of women and it reflects KaizenTP’s mission to elevate female tech entrepreneurship and empower more women in their road to success.
We would like to thank Women in Cloud for the invitation and Ideagen for hosting the incredible event.
